Ahu unveiled a bold reimagining of ritual and craft in Istanbul.

With the solo exhibition Nahıl – Ahu’s New Journey: Redefining Objects, Space and Rituals, the studio returned to its city of origin, presenting a limited-edition collection that both extended the narrative of its inaugural body of work and marked a significant new chapter. The exhibition established Ahu as a distinct voice emerging from the crossroads of East and West.

Positioned at the intersection of ritual, material culture, and collectible design, the collection translates centuries of Turkish craftsmanship into sculptural objects of strong presence — works that carry historical resonance while engaging directly with the living currents of contemporary culture.

Milan Design Week 2025

7 – 13 April 2025

Ahu was presented at the Boon Room as part of Milan Design Week, showcasing a selection of the studio’s work alongside the latest addition to the Modern Heirlooms collection: the Meyhane Cabinet in the Bosphorus colourway. Crafted in dark blue–stained oak, the piece features high-gloss lacquer panels and the studio’s signature handles, offering a glimpse into the distinctive material language and finish of the Meyhane series.

PAD Paris 2024

3 – 7 April 2024

Ahu presented the Nazar Credenza in the Bosphorus colourway with Boon Room at PAD Paris. Drawing inspiration from the centrepieces of the studio’s debut collection—the solid wood and lacquer Meyhane drinks cabinets—the Meyhane Credenza was conceived for dining spaces, offering both presence and versatility.

Homo Faber 2024

1 – 30 September 2024

Ahu participated in Homo Faber 2024 in Venice as part of The Journey of Life, curated by the Michelangelo Foundation with art direction by Luca Guadagnino and Nicolò Rosmarini. In parallel, the studio was included in a specially curated presentation by Via Arno, celebrating exceptional contemporary craftsmanship and bringing together inspiring objects and artisans from around the world.

Ahu at Benoit de Gorski

Geneva

21 March – 5 April 2024

Ahu presented a wide selection from the Modern Heirlooms collection during a spring exhibition at Benoît de Gorski in Geneva, shown alongside collectible objects and jewellery. The presentation featured the studio’s latest designs, highlighting its distinctive synthesis of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary collectible design.

BOON × Paris Design Week 2023

During Paris Design Week 2023, Boon Room presented a curated selection from Ahu’s Modern Heirlooms collection, highlighting the studio’s dialogue between contemporary design and enduring craftsmanship.

BOON × PAD Paris 2023

29 March – 2 April 2023

Boon Room included a selection from Ahu’s Modern Heirlooms collection in its presentation at PAD Paris, marking the studio’s first participation in the fair. Shown alongside works by other designers, the showcase positioned the studio’s pieces within a broader conversation on materiality, craft, and form.

Ahu at Alcova Milano 

17 – 23 April 2023

During Alcova Milano 2023, Ahu presented a selection of new objects, including the Tepsi series from the Modern Heirlooms collection. Handcrafted in Istanbul by master artisans, the works combine sculptural presence with functional design, reflecting the studio’s ongoing dialogue between traditional techniques and contemporary production.

Installed within the historic Porta Vittoria abattoir, the presentation engaged with the character of the space, offering visitors a direct encounter with Ahu’s material language and craftsmanship.

Ahu at Maison & Objet 2023

19 – 23 January 2023

During Maison & Objet 2023, Ahu presented a selection of works from the Modern Heirlooms collection, including the Tepsi object series, the Ka’Ve07 table, and the Meyhane Nazar Credenza. Each limited-edition piece is handcrafted in Istanbul by master artisans, combining solid wood structures with hand-applied finishes, glass or wooden panels, and layered printing and lacquering techniques.

The presentation marked the first international showing of the smaller pieces, highlighting the studio’s approach of integrating diverse artisanal processes within a single object.

2022

During Milan Design Week 2022, the Meyhane Nazar Cabinet was showcased at Imarika Boutique, prominently displayed in the showroom window. Presented as part of the studio’s debut collection, the cabinet stood out within the boutique’s vibrant setting, highlighting its sculptural presence and meticulous craftsmanship.

Milan Design Week 2022 – 5VIE

Ahu at 5VIE 

7 – 12 June 2022

At 5VIE, Ahu presented a selection of works from the studio’s inaugural collection, including the Ka’Ve coffee tables and the Keyf 02 minibar. The pieces highlighted the studio’s hybrid approach to making - where advanced digital processes are combined with time-honoured craftsmanship and assembled through the expertise of master craftspeople.
Moving between precisely constructed forms and richly hand-finished surfaces, each limited-edition work embodied Ahu’s dialogue between technological precision, material depth, and artisanal knowledge.

London Design Festival 2021

Nazar Cabinet at the Royal Suite,
St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel

20 – 26 September 2021

The studio was officially launched during its presentation at the London Design Festival, marked by a press event that included an in-conversation with design curator Christopher Turner of the Victoria and Albert Museum. During the exhibition, the Nazar Cabinet was showcased in the Royal Suite of the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel. 

Presented as one of the centrepieces of the studio’s debut collection, the Meyhane drinks cabinet was conceived for collectors, designed to display and celebrate rare whiskies and spirits.
